  • This edition is in the key of Bb major, but we will actually sing this a half-step down from there (i.e., in A major,  the same key as the recordings, below). In the Kyrie–for example–the tenors, sopranos, and altos will start on an E rather than an F.

  • Use these recordings to learn pitches and timing, but not necessarily pronunciation or text-placement. We will pronounce the “s” in “eleison” as an “s” sound (not as a “z” sound). When you don’t have enough notes to fit in all the syllables of “kyrie eleison”, then pronounce those words as “ky-ri” and “e-le-son”, respectively.
